Kensley singing her ABC's

Kensley was playing with some blocks in the boys room the other day and started singing her ABC's. It was so stinkin' cute, I just had to get it on video. Of course, when you pull out the camera, they always do something different. This is pretty good though. She concentrates more on the latter half of the alphabet. I still say, not to bad for an almost 2 year old!

It's outta here!

Finally, I have my house back. I dropped off my WeeRuns consignment stuff this morning... 290 items... wow! Now comes the task of cleaning the house. The boys are going to a sleepover tonight, so I plan on getting some heaving duty cleaning done. I've got lots to catch up on. I've said for a month that when I get my consignment stuff done that I will do _______ (fill in the blank).

Let me just say that in less than a month, my baby will be turning 2. 2! Didn't I just have her? Each year flies by faster & faster. I ordered her birthday party stuff this week... Minnie Mouse... she LOVES Minnie! I'm working on her invites now too (pictures made with my new camera!) It's so much fun shopping for little girls. I guess because I can relate better to dolls & barbies than I can to cars and action heroes.

Lots of blanks to fill in now... until next post! Ta-ta for now.

Labor Day Beach Trip

Every fall we always vacation with Corby's family... either in the mountains or at the beach. This year it was the beach rotation, so we headed down to Myrtle Beach for the weekend. It was so much fun... as always. The kids love spending time with all their cousins and it's nice to spend time with Corby's parents, brothers & sisters. There are 22 of us in all (Corby has 4 brothers & sisters). MamMaw Wanda had lots of activities planned and that's always so much fun to see what she's come up with. This year we had Beach Olympics. All the kids & the adults participated in everything from tug-of-war to being blinded folded & making a dash for the ocean to bring back a bucket of water to being an adult " baby" while the kids dressed & took care of us...needless to say, we laughed a lot this weekend. We also made stepping stones for MamMaw & PapPaw's front yard. All the grand kids make one to send home with them & then we got to make one to bring home. This was a really cool project! I took a ton of pictures (as usual) and might I add that I LOVE my new camera. Here's a little video that I made... I hope it works.

Got me a new camera... woo, hoo!

I've been wanting a new camera for a long time. I've tried & tried to convince Corby to let me get one, but he always kept telling me I had to save my money & buy it. Well, I had most of the $$$, so he let me go ahead & get it since we are going to the beach this weekend & our camera is doing loopy things these days. I always get lots of pictures of the family because I do a calendar for each of our parents every year. I need something dependable. I LOVE this camera! There are still so many functions/buttons/etc on this thing & it will take me a while to get the hang of it, but here's a few pics that I've managed to capture the past few days.

This is a really cool feature that I'm totally digging... it's called color accent. You focus in on one color & all the rest is in black & white.

The first day of school

It's officially a new school year. The boys started back today, much to their dislike... but you gotta send them anyway or the police will come & get Mommy & Daddy... (that's what we always tell them). It was a struggle getting them up this morning but we all manage to roll out of bed & get ourselves ready. I thought things were going pretty smooth until the initial separation happened... for both boys. Carter shed many tears & had lots of hugs and we left him crying. I gave Chandler a hug & walked him to right outside his room & then Corby took him on in. He had to come back for one more hug & was a little teary. Oh, I hope this isn't a sign for the coming months... they are going to be LONG if it keeps up. They had an okay day when they got home. I guess as good as can be after having the whole summer free.

Here's some pictures of my big boys sporting their new monogrammed backpacks this morning.

Chandler is in 3rd grade & Carter is in 1st

School Orientation & WeeRuns

Today was the boys school orientation. I swear this was the fastest summer ever, but today confirmed it more than anything that I am ready for school to start back. It's just time... they are bored, my nerves are as thin as fishing line... it's just time. We got to meet their new teachers today. Carter has Chandler's 1st grade teacher, so it wasn't so new for us. Just a different go round. He's got 3 kids from his class last year, so at least he'll know a couple kids. His class has 23 in it & 14 of them are girls!!!! He seems to be excited... I hope he keeps the momentum. Chandler's teacher is out on maternity leave right now & won't be back until Nov. We met the sub today & she was super sweet. She's a retired teacher, so she knows her business. Kensley ran like a wild woman all over the school. She really thinks she's a big kid there. Everyone just ooo's & ahh's over her & how cute she his, but it really stresses me out with her being so loud & rambunctious (is that how u spell it????). Monday is the big day.

So I've talked... well, let's be honest... complained, about all the consignment stuff that I've been working on the past few weeks. To show you how much I've really had to do, here's a few pictures. Mom & Dad kept the kids when I left their house on Sunday and I picked them up at lunch on Tues. I devoted the whole day Monday to tagging & hanging. For those of you who have never been to my house... it's small, so this is A LOT of stuff sitting around. (keep in mind... this is ONLY clothes... no toys, baby stuff, big items... just clothes)

In the boys rooms, starting my piles. There is a rack in there as well that is stuffed.

Kensley's room. This rack is so packed, I had to put some other stuff in tub's below it.

The living room...more piles...the rack in the picture is full now 2 rows, top & bottom, on each side. Also there are 2 tubs in the floor with stuff in them.

4 more tubs in storage... still to be tagged (I did finish on Monday, that's why all my racks are stuffed now)

Fishin' at the Tater Hole

For real, it's a place... in Granite Falls. I'm at my parents with the kids for the weekend. We all went on a picnic for supper tonight with some of my parents friends & their granddaughter. Here's the pic that tells the story of the name:

We had a fun time. The boys went fishing with my Dad. No luck catching anything though. (They are a little impatient to really learn how to fish, but they got lots of help from PawPaw.)
