For What It's Worth... My opinion on the election

***I know this is just one person's (my) opinion and you have every right to disagree with me. But I've felt a huge tugging at the heart for the past few weeks to speak up about this. So read it if you want, pass it on if you want, pass on by it if you want...but please PRAY for our nation in this coming election. **

I usually read these political emails & hit the delete button before I'm finished, but I've started taking much more interest in what I've read lately. I've not really had an opinion about the whole political election until just recently when Hillary Clinton dropped out. From day one I've had doubts about Obama. Something is just wrong with the whole situation with him. Then all this stuff pops up left & right bashing him (and plenty of bashing of the other candidates too) but something about Obama is worse. It seems so many people are mesmerized by him and as if he has cast a spell over his followers. I feel like if Obama wins this election we are headed downhill... fast.

I asked a relative of mine to give me her opinion about the candidates. She's always up to date with what's happening in the campaign, so I take value in what she says. This was just a small excerpt of what she commented that really stood out to me and I agree with it completely.
However, in recent weeks, I will probably hold my nose and vote for McCain, because I believe that under no circumstances should any decent, law abiding, God fearing, responsible American vote for Obama. The more I learn about him, the less I trust him. The thing that tore it for me was his re-interpreting the Scriptures to fit "his" version of Christianity. He said he didn't believe that Jesus was the only path to Heaven. Well, it's fine to have that opinion, but if you do, you can't be intellectually honest and call yourself a Christian. And, on top of that, I keep hearing rumblings, and I'll admit this is all conjecture and the stuff of conspiracy theories, but there's some real concern that Obama is being bankrolled and "groomed" by some other group to become President, possibly some rich muslims, and/or ultra liberal goons, like George Soros and his ilk. As long as he's got a teleprompter and a script, he does ok, but when he has to think on his feet, he becomes a blithering idiot and flip flops and you can tell he doesn't have a clue what he's doing. There really does appear to be somebody else "behind the curtain."

As a Christian, I don't want to take the chance of all the suspicious accusations that have been circulating around being true and letting this man rule our country. I'm very nervous about what's going to happen in this election. When I think about it, it literally makes me feel sick.

I don't know too much about McCain, but I've heard enough in the media to not like him too much either. So my thoughts were to just not even vote at all and I've talked to so many people that feel the same. I've heard "it's a battle of the lesser of the two evils" or "pick your evil" over and over again. But I don't feel we can take the risk of not voting. I personally don't want to take the chance of other people not voting and letting all these Obama worshippers take over this election.

So here's my nitty-gritty of this post: More than anything, I am challenging.... no, calling... each of you to PRAY! I feel this country needs our Godly people to step up & call out to our God... the real, one & only GOD...not some version of a God.... but to the LORD ALMIGHTY to save our nation.

O Happy Day!

So far, summer is kicking my butt. The stress of having the kids home all day long is quite exhausting... except for those few & far between good days. I know I signed up for all of this when I had kids, but it is sometimes a little overwhelming with 3 kids. The boys are fighting, arguing, screaming, tattling... and the list could go on and Kensley is in the terrible 2's and very whiny. Since we've got back from the beach she has yet to take a nap for more than a hour & half... normally she's a 3 or 4 hour napper. But today, they all redeemed themselves very nicely. Before we went to the beach, I had a routine with the boys that I planned to keep all summer... except on vacations. We did good the first week and things weren't so bad or crazy at home as long as we stuck to our schedule. This week, I haven't stuck to my plans so much & I've been feeling the pain. So today, everyone slept in... til 9am... and we've had a great day. The boys entertained their sister while I got a few things done & had a conversation with my college roommate. This afternoon we had lunch, put Kensley down for a nap & the boys helped me clean up & followed through with their chores without grumbling. We all went to work & straightened up the house in a snap and they had fun doing it. They even did some things that I didn't even ask them to do like dust, vacuum, clean the bathroom & clean the front door AND Kensley slept until 5:00. They've got a long well today without much fighting or whining. Wow! I have great kids. I knew they were hiding in those little bodies somewhere. These days make it all worthwhile & you forget about the hardships... for a while at least.
