Yes, I'm aware of what time it is

... and it's pathetic really. I'm sitting here typing at 12:53 am and I should be sleeping. However, I feel that the good reason behind me staying up late is that it's #1) the weekend, #2)I've been wanting to catch up on all my blogs from the past week #3)it's quite & I don't have a 1 year old saying "blee-blit, jooose", or any other of her new found words that makes me get up in mid sentence to search for. With that said, I'll get to my post. I'm in the midst of making some very pretty Mother's Day cards. If you would like one, get your order in ASAP. I'll be posting pictures hopefully tomorrow of the designs I've come up with so far. In the middle of making cards tonight, I realized that I needed a wedding gift for tomorrow & I had planned on making some Thank You cards to give. I forgot. Woops. I guess I'll be speed making tomorrow. That will not be the first time I've slapped some cards together at the last minute.

I cleaned and washed clothes ALL day today. Since I finally gave in and did what I should have been doing all week, I felt the need to reward myself with some craft time & computer time tonight. Like my friend Rhianna, I feel the need to put off cleaning as long as possible. I'm getting ready for Disney too, so I've got stuff strung all over my house in boxes, suitcases & piles. Let me just say that I am so excited about my trip, but my head is so packed full of information to take into consideration, that I think it's going to explode. I'll be glad when we get there & I don't have to think about all the prep work anymore and I can just enjoy. 7 days & counting!

Kensley is doing great recovering from her tubes. We've not seen one sign of any problems. However, the ear drops are not going so great. Only a few more days of that. Keeping a toddler's finger out of her freshly wet ear & keeping the vaseline-covered cotton ball in it is virtually impossible.

That's all for now. I'm off to bed... it's now 1:05 am.

Kensley's surgery

Kensley had to have tubes put in her ears today. She's had 9 ear infections since November, so the doctors decided it's time to nip this in the bud... hopefully. The goal is no more ear infections. So, we went to the outpatient hospital this morning at 6:50 am and had the procedure done. I was really worried about her wanting her "nummy, nummy", but she didn't even ask for it. As soon as we walked back to pre-op, she said "eeees" and pointed to her ears. She knew why she was there. She was in a pretty good mood except when they had to give her a shot of "loopy" medicine as they called it. She pushed the needle right out of her leg. They got enough of the meds in her to take effect. It was pretty funny seeing her kind of zone out. She would play a bit then stare into space and then start playing again. We had to wait forever for the doctor to get there, but they finally took her back about 8:20. I didn't look at my watch, but it didn't take long at all. I sat & flipped through a magazine & before I got to the end, they called us back to recovery. She was crying when we got back there. She was a little better when I got her and gave her nummy, nummy. She was upset for about 30 min, but I think it was because nurses kept coming in to check on her & she thought they were going to do something to her again. Once we got in the van she was fine. However, the van was not. The battery was dead. Fortunately, one of the nurses came & let us jump it off. Needless to say, I had to go get a new battery today. Anyway, Kensley is doing great. She has showed no signs of hurting and she hasn't fussed at all this afternoon. She's napped great & ate normal. Hopefully, we've fixed her "eees" now.

Here's a picture of her with the sunglasses they gave her at the hospital while we were waiting.

Daddy's home!

Yes, Corby is back from a business trip. He was gone for most of last week. He got in late Friday night, but me & the kids were in Statesville, so we didn't get to see him until Saturday afternoon. The kids were so excited to finally see Daddy again. It's so cute to see Kensley get excited. She walked around every morning saying with her hands held out "where daddy?" she finally started answering her own question, "daddy wuk" (work). That's about the extent of what she can comprehend at her young age & she bought it, so there ya go.

I'm battling the allergy crud. I like spring because it's pretty & everything starts blooming, but that darn ole' pollen I can't stand. We had about 5 mounds of tree pollen in our driveway yesterday. I hate the yellow glaze that covers everything. I hate sitting on anything outside & standing up with a yellow bottom. It makes me itch to think about going outside & that's where my kids could live. I avoided it most all day today, but my nose is still like a dripping faucet & I could scratch all day long... arms, head, face, eyes, nose... you get the point. Hopefully soon, all of this will pass so I can go on to complain about the next thing... the summer heat. (If you know me at all, you know that I don't like to sweat and I DON'T like to be hot). Granted we are going to Disney in a couple weeks and that's probably all I will do is sweat and be hot the whole week, but that's definitely worth it.

Hope everyone has a good week!
