Kids working...playing... hard

We are in Statesville this weekend. Corby is doing a soccer tournament here, so me & the kids tagged along to spend some time with family. When we pulled up in MamMaw & PaPaw's driveway last night, Chandler was beside himself excited because PaPaw's big truck (he drives an 18 wheeler) was in the driveway with a trailer hauling a huge tractor. He couldn't wait to get out of the van. All he talked about last night was what he wanted to do to work on that truck today. He played... literally... all day long in the truck. He took a few breaks to jump on the trampoline and help PaPaw work on the house, but he worked "so hard" (in his own words) on that truck today. He was in & out & hooked up chains to his the bicycles & ride on toys in the yard. I had to use Goop hand cleaner tonight to get all the filth off his hands they were so dirty and they still didn't come clean. PaPaw took all the boy cousins to deliver the tractor this morning in northern Iredell County. That was a big treat to get to ride in the truck. There was 125 pounds of air in the air horn on the truck and Chandler used every last bit of it until the horn couldn't blow another peep. They had fun & that's what counts. Carter enjoyed most of the day jumping on the trampoline with his little cousin Nathan. I'll try to post some picutures tomorrow when we get home.

Trampolines & Talk

The boys finally got their trampoline mat today AND it fits. To fill you in, this has been in process since December. They got it as a present because our old one ripped right down the middle. We've had 3 different ones. One too big with too many holes, one right amount of holes but still too big. Finally after much conversation & explaining & measuring to the company, they have their Christmas present from MamMaw Wanda.
Kensley is 29 weeks today. I can't believe she's almost 7 months old. She's talking up a storm now... saying "la la la la" and "da da da da". A lot of times she'll combine the 2 and it sounds like "blah, blah". Why is it that most babies first words are Da Da? It's just not right. We carry them & birth them and Da Da has to be the first thing out of their mouth (besides slobber & spit up)! Gimmie a break. I only know of one person who's kid said "ma ma" first. Regardless of what she says, I still love her the same.

Vaccum cleaners

Has anyone seen that commercial for the new Dyson slim vaccum? All these women are cleaning their floors with their "squeaky" vaccums. It sounds like a dog toy or a baby's squeaky toy. Hilarious! That's totally my vaccum. Despite the fact that it's the loudest one on the block & you have to scream to hear a conversation while it's running.... it cleans like a squeaky little toy. I'm in the process of cleaning up the old van to sell it. I got out the vaccum today & tried cleaning the inside. Not great success. I hate our vaccum cleaner & I have for a while, but I can't see buying a new one when the old one still runs. Never mind the fact that it doesn't pick up much at all, it still runs. I guess I'll hope like I did for our old TV. We used to have one of those console TV's that sat on the floor. My grandmother gave it to me. It worked, so we couldn't justify getting a new one. It only went up to channel 30 if that tells you how old it was. So we just hoped & prayed that it would quit working so we could get a new one. Eventually it did. So, now I'm hoping & praying that my vaccum will quit working so I can justify getting a new one.
