I have to take a moment to brag on my son Chandler. He's such a good kid (well, they all are) and he was recognized for his actions at school. Cleveland County schools honor students from all over the county each month with this "Do the Right Thing" award. Chandler was nominated by his teacher at the school for the month of February. He won at his school & was in the running with other kids all over the county (but didn't win at the county level). They recognized him on the school's morning TV & this is what was said:
Chandler has taken on the job of picking up stray paper towels in the bathroom that litter the floor so Mr. Leslie (the school janitor) doesn't have to. Chandler decided on his own to do this as his contribution to keep our school clean. We're proud of him and challenge other students to do their part in helping to keep our school looking good!
We are so proud of him for showing a positive attitude & having a great idea to contribute to his school. This is definitely in his nature to help others & I hope he continues to show this kind of thought and action as he gets older. When I picked him up from school on Friday he came running to me & said "mommy... i got a letter from someone important!" When I opened the letter, it was from our State Senator, Debbie Clary, congratulating him for being nominated for this award. I'm impressed!
