Do the Right Thing

I have to take a moment to brag on my son Chandler. He's such a good kid (well, they all are) and he was recognized for his actions at school. Cleveland County schools honor students from all over the county each month with this "Do the Right Thing" award. Chandler was nominated by his teacher at the school for the month of February. He won at his school & was in the running with other kids all over the county (but didn't win at the county level). They recognized him on the school's morning TV & this is what was said:

Chandler has taken on the job of picking up stray paper towels in the bathroom that litter the floor so Mr. Leslie (the school janitor) doesn't have to. Chandler decided on his own to do this as his contribution to keep our school clean. We're proud of him and challenge other students to do their part in helping to keep our school looking good!

We are so proud of him for showing a positive attitude & having a great idea to contribute to his school. This is definitely in his nature to help others & I hope he continues to show this kind of thought and action as he gets older. When I picked him up from school on Friday he came running to me & said "mommy... i got a letter from someone important!" When I opened the letter, it was from our State Senator, Debbie Clary, congratulating him for being nominated for this award. I'm impressed!

Third Time

Yes, I went again... to see New Kids on the Block. They were in Greenville, SC at the Bi-Lo Center last night and me & my friend Meagan went. Yet again, another awesome concert! They changed it up a bit this go round, but it was still fantastic. AND the best part was our seats! We were on the floor at the back. That made for some frustrating times to try & see them on the stage, but when they came back to stage B in the center of the auditorium, we were literally right beside of them. I think there were maybe 4 or 5 people in front on me. This is how close we really were.

Here are more pics to show how close we really were...in no particular order :-)
Jordan Knight
Joey McIntyre
Jon Knight (i know it's kinda blurry, but he's smiling)
Donnie Wahlberg
Danny Wood (he was actually smiling for the camera at a girl in front of me)

We've graduated to the toddler bed

Well, it's that time... the move from the crib to the toddler bed. I've fought it long enough, but I guess many mornings of not being ready to creep out of bed to go get my hollering toddler has pushed me on over. I said that I would keep Kensley in her crib until I was forced to get her out of it but I was wrong or either I feel forced to get her out now. I liked her being contained until her mouth drove us crazy. Here's what I mean.

Almost every morning.... well, at least every morning we tried to sleep in... we have been awakened to this. Our house is small & unless you jump right out of bed to get her, EVERYONE wakes up. It was getting old!

I've had a toddler bed in my parents basement for the past year & I decided it's time. I didn't feel the sadness that I've felt before... kind of like I'm letting go of one of the last things of my baby. I was ready & she was too. We had a successful night... she stayed put... and this morning she came running into the bedroom about 7:20 am & I don't even think Corby woke up.
