Pictionary Champs!

Corby & I are the standing champs in Pictionary (we played with some friends tonight). If you've never played that game, I highly recommend it. I don't think we've been beat yet when we are a team. I guess after being married for almost 12 years we know each other's "ways" and thoughts. I just love that game!

On another note, I took ALL the kids shopping yesterday. I must say they were all so good...really. We went to Gaffney to the outlets & the boys took turns pushing Kensley in the stroller & I guess having them around was good entertainment for her. We shopped for 2 1/2 hours & they didn't complain once. It's a miracle. I found some great deals for all the kids and they even cooperated to try on a few things. I didn't get to finish, so I went back again today. It was packed today. I guess with it being the weekend and a pretty day, everyone had the same idea.

My butt is sore

I took the boys skating tonight. It was a lot of fun & I haven't got to spend time with just them in a while. It was spirit night for their school and one other so there were tons of kids all over the place. Those kids are WILD when they get on skates! I haven't skated in probably 10 years or more, so I was a little cautious getting out on the floor. I took one lap around first to make sure it was all coming back to me. Chandler can skate... semi-decent. He doesn't fall much & he gets the concept of how to get around the rink. Carter on the other hand was on the floor more than on his two feet. I had to help him around a few times before he was convinced to keep going. Then I spent the remainder of the time with a death grip on his hands & trying to balance myself & him as well. He'll probably have a dislocated shoulder and bruised butt & hips in the morning from falling so much. I, on the other hand, will definitely have a bruised backside. I was creamed by a kid. He rammed right into the back of me, we both fell & his leg ended up under me with me landing on his skate. I have a perfect circle (the size of a skate wheel) on my hiney. I almost wanted to cry & then slap the kid, but I mustered enough umpf to get up and go on...very slowly I might add. He at least was nice enough to ask if I was okay. I'm telling you these kids were ruthless out there. Cutting in front of people, slamming into walls right in front of us, darting in & out... it was ridiculous. I don't know how many times they had to come over the loud speaker & tell kids to slow down & watch out for others around them.
**As I'm sitting in a hard chair to type this, I'm leaning to the left... as to not put pressure on my right bum. I need to be sitting on one of those rings, ha!
PS... spell check is finally working again!

Tech junkie

I think I've figured out that's what I am. I just watched a segment on the Today show about people who are addicted to the internet & all their high-tech stuff. Granted, I'm not a phone "texter", but I'm addicted to my computer. My blog & reading others, I always have to check my email, I freak out if I leave my phone when I'm gone, you know the usual stuff that we as a country have accumstomed ourselves to that we would have never dreamed of when we were kids. I read my daily devotion on the computer, I listen to music on the computer, I keep my bank account stuff on the computer. When I have some free time, I don't look forward to sitting down & watching TV or going outside for a walk, I want to get on the computer. It's sad. I was just thinking this morning after I laid Kensley down for her morning nap that I wanted to update my online photo album so I can finish my digital scrapbook (one of my favorite things). I finished my laundry pile yesterday, so I have some time to work on it & not feel guilty. Until I watched that show. Actually, I didn't watch it, I was just listening to it in the background as I'm on the computer. See...I'm addicted.

Authority Issues

This has been the title of the sermon for the past two weeks at my church. It has been very good and eye opening for me. It's stuff you know, but don't always want to hear. I espeically enjoyed the message this week because our pastor talked about husbands and wives. I'm sure most of you reading this have an extra 30 min to sit down & watch or listen to this (yeah right!), but if you could spare some time, it's very worthwhile. Click on this link and then click on Sunday, Feb 17- part two. Next Sunday will be even better. He is talking about parenting. You'll have to check back to the website next Sunday afternoon.

These are a few of my favorite things....

Crocs - yes, some of them are ugly, but if you wear a pair, you will for sure change your mind. They are the most comfy shoes I own. If I could have a pair in every style & color... I would.

Shopping cart covers - for the nasty buggies/high chairs that you have to sit your kids in.

I'm not sure what the offical name brand/name is, but their are some bibs you can buy at Wal-Mart. They are a plastic type material on the front & cloth in the back. They have 2 snaps to make a pocket for food to fall into when you put them on baby. They wash great & last forever!

Loungewear - whoever came up with this name is a genius. Yes, they are really PJ's, but look a bit nicer. I love them in the winter especially. At least I'm still not in my gown all day.

Clorox Anywhere hard surface spray - this is the best stuff ever. I feel like whatever I'm spraying it on actually get's clean and it has a pleasant smell. It's not harsh like the stuff with bleach. I also keep a travel one in my diaper bag for when we go to restaurants.

Clorox Ready Mop - why did I ever clean with a regular mop???? I'm sure the Swiffer brand is just as good, but I happen to have the Clorox one. I will never go back. My bucket is only used for washing cars now & I finally threw away my mop that has been hanging in my laundry room unused for years.

Swivel Sweeper - I swear that every Mom should own one of these things. I've had 2 of the Shark versions & the Dirt Devil version & this one is by far my favorite!!! I use it everyday, multiple times. Kids make messes, especially eating. It's great to clean up a quick mess without having to pull out the vaccum cleaner or broom every time.

Cherry Cordials are one of my favorite candies. Everyone loves a Hershey Kiss. Then... they put the 2 together. Heaven! I LOVE this candy & the even came out with a dark chocolate version which makes it even better.

God Made Me videos - they are along the same line of Baby Einstein, except they are set to Christian music and biblical teachings. Kensley LOVES them, therefore, I love them.
Digital Scrapbooking - I love to scrapbook, but lack of time & a lot of kids has not allowed me to keep it up like I want to. I'm far behind with a lot of pictures to develop. Creative memories has a free program to download to make a book and most other photo websites have photo albums as well. You plug your pictures, type in your journaling, click "order" and they ship it to you. How easy is that!

A fresh new look

Finally I've acheived a more "colorful" look on my blog than the plain ole color choices I've had for a while now. My friend Janet linked this website http://cutestblogontheblock.blogspot.com/ on her blog. You'll have to check it out.

Corby took the boys on Friday night to the Monster Truck Jam in Charlotte. He got a perk from the Y that if he drove the YMCA bus for a group that was going from a couple of the Y's, he would get tickets for the family. I knew that was something Kensley would not really enjoy at her age, so the had a boys night. They had a great time.
