GWU Gathering

Last weekend we went to Salisbury (Dan Nicholas Park) to meet up with some friends from college... most of who we haven't seen since graduation. It was so much fun to see everyone! We rented a shelter, had a cookout, played a lot & caught up on the past 10+ years. This park was a really cool place to go. It's definitely worth the trip there with all they have to offer. We rode a train, a carousel, mined for gems (the kids really loved that), walked a couple trails, played on a huge playground and lots more was offered there that we didn't even participate in. It was an exhausting, but very fun day! I think this gathering might be in the works for coming years as well.

(PS...This was a different group of people than "my girls" from college. I talk to most of them on a regular basis.)

T-ball has started

Oh the joys of t-ball season :-~ (can you tell that I SOOOO love it... not!) Carter's games have started & now bring on the heat...of course. Last year he played & we either roasted in the heat like peanuts or ran for our lives from the pop up thunderstorms that drenched us. I really do support my kids in their choice of sport, but for some reason, t-ball is my least favorite. I absolutely think baseball is such a boring sport to watch & when you put 15 little kids on a ball team that don't hit the ball very well & play a game of a lot of toss & masses run to the ball & then run back to wherever the coach tell them to plant themselves... it's just not very appealing to me. However, Carter is one of the older ones on his team and he's pretty good I must admit, so I'm going to like it. He's done really well in his first couple games & I'm feeling he may get a homer this year... afterall, it is a really short field. He's hit it to the fence several times already & that's just for starters. What makes it bad is that the games are an hour & a half. I mean really?! They are 5 & 6 year olds. It's hard enough to hold their attention for 30 minutes. But whatever, I'm not a pro at planning that kind of stuff, so maybe I don't know. Here's some pictures to enjoy of my little red-head...and one of the bat boy. :-)
