I love Sunday. First because I get to go worship in a great church & sing with a great bunch on our praise team which is lead by a wonderful worship pastor. I also love Sunday because of naps. We get home from church, eat, change clothes (usually back into my pj's), put Kensley to bed, Corby turns on the TV & I either claim a couch or just go to my bed. I don't nap, I sleep... like several hours of sleep. Today, I slept from 1:30 to a little after 4 when Kensley woke me up. However, there is a problem with naps. I usually wake up ill or still tired because someone has woken me & I didn't get up on my own free will... or internal clock... whatever. It takes me an hour or so to get back into the groove. Also, I normally wake up with a headache. I guess because I've slept so long. Then, we have the problem that I am experiencing now. It's 12:46 am & I'm still not sleepy. Well, no wonder! I slept all afternoon. So, I'm in a dilema. If I don't get my Sunday nap, it literally affects the rest of my week...I'm so sluggish and sleepy. But, if I do get my nap, it affects my Monday mornings (I have a hard time getting out of bed), sometimes I will take another nap when Kensley goes down for her morning nap, which affects my week as well because it makes me feel like I need a nap everyday. Can I really win on this one?
PS... is anyone having trouble using their spell check when composing a post? I've not been able to get it to work for several days.

Funny kids
We've had an eventful day... in a good way. Both boys had a basketball game this morning AND I forgot my camera once again. Carter scored 2 baskets in his game AND I missed them... again! (because I was out roaming the halls with Kensley) I've only got 2 or 3 games left until the season is over. Chandler's game was really good today. The first half was boring and uneventful, but the 2nd half, everyone was on the edge of their seats. Funny thing is, the team we played, the coach is a friend of ours that we go to church with. Nothing heated, just a really intense game and it ended up in a tie.
This afternoon has been laid back & I loved it! I'm usually go, go, go, especially when Corby is here to help with the kids. Corby took the boys to a birthday party, but other than that, I didn't do a thing. I do have some funny stories to report though.
Let's start with the Carter Chronicles... it's been a few weeks. He didn't make up some elaborate story this time, it's just funny. I saw his assistant teacher at the Y today and she said she was talking to Carter one day this week. Somehow they got on the subject of what he had for supper the night before and he told her chicken enchiladas. She said "oh that sounds yummy" and he responded yes. She asked what was in it. He then leaned his head down and kind of quietly said "it's made with throw up". Of course she proned more to see what the deal was. She said "i'm sure she doesn't make it with throw up" and he said "yes, it's made with throw up but it tastes good". After that she tried to convince him that it really couldn't be made of that and he still insisted it was, but even quieter each time he said it & then he just said "oh, never mind". She was cracking up! She loves his stories. That makes me a little nervous sometimes.
Then we have Miss Priss. She loves to chew gum. The other day we were leaving a restaurant and she was chomping away at something and just a smiling at me. I asked Corby what she had in her mouth and he replied "gum". I almost freaked out, but he said it was a really small piece. Thing is, she chewed it all the way home. It was hilarious! She also played outside this afternoon. She's mastered the small playground stairs and slide all by herself. She was so dirty but didn't seem to mind. (Although I did)
I can't think of anything specific that Chandler has done other being his goofy self. He's a jokester and acts just like his Daddy. He enjoys being the center of attention but not to the point that he's arrogant or anthing like that.
Corby & I are doing a skit at church tomorrow. This is my first "performance" of this matter, but Corby is an old pro at it now. I'm a little nervous, but it should be pretty funny. It preceeds the sermon tomorrow and they usually put the sermons online each week. If we end up making the final cut, I'll let you know where you can view it.

Trying it out
I'm trying out a new layout. I tried to do this myself by changing the colors to match my new siggy. I'm not sure yet if I like the layout or not, so bear with me if I change it several times over the next few days.
It's been a busy few days & tomorrow is even worse. I did have a massage today and it was fabulous! I really wish I had enough money to do this at least once a month. Yeah right... only in my dreams. I'll stick with my once or twice a year that I can get one. It's usually a gift. Gotta run & do some stuff. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Learning to self-feed
PS... notice the hair clip. This is required to be in her hair as soon as she gets up in the morning. She says "bo, bo, bo, bo" until I put it in. If it falls out, then it must be put back as quickly as possible.

What is that noise?
Saturday night, I went to bed probably around midnight. I had just got comfy & almost asleep when I heard a big ruckus outside. At first I thought it was our neighbors coming in for the night, but it got louder & louder. So I got up & looked out my bedroom window. There was a cab in one of the driveways across the street and a woman standing outside of it yelling at someone sitting inside. Well the next thing you know, two women are out of the van hitting, slapping & rolling all over the yard fighting with a couple other people standing around watching them. Now, that's a sight you don't see often! The guy who lives beside of them, who works for the sheriff's dept, came outside & yelled something at them & they broke it up. The women were obviously drunk (hence the cab ride home) and kept yelling profanities at each other. The cab sped off like crazy.... I'm sure he was glad to get out of there. The police ended up coming & there was no more action so I went to bed. I felt like I was in high school watching one of those awful cat fights between girls. At least this time I had the comfort of my home to protect me.

Just plain ole tired
I'm in a bit of a funk. I guess the kids having a 3 day break and a snow day last week has put me in a mood. I don't want to get out of bed in the morning, I don't want to do housework, I'm tired & sleepy all day (doesn't really help that I napped most every day the kids were out of school), I don't feel good and my kids are getting on my nerves. Yes, I admitted it. I actually told Corby one day, as my baby was screaming & hanging onto my pants and the boys were wrestling and running all over the house, that I was tired of being Mommy today. I've got to get my act together and snap out of it. Whack!... (that's me slapping myself back into reality.)
I guess I'm just tired and feeling a bit of the winter blues, but the Lord knows how to get me right where He needs me. I read an article in a magazine tonight... as I mustered up enough umph to clean out the growing stack of papers & "stuff" growing on my kitchen counter...that lifted my spirits a bit. It talked about the endless jobs of a mom and you really never get a break from it, but you have to do it anyway. We've all been there... we have our highs & lows and I guess I'm in my lows right now. However, it also talked about the rewards of being a mom and the little things they do that we love and makes it all worth it at the end of the day. It also gave 3 principles that you should practice everyday: A. W. E.
A - show lots of Affection.
W - fill your home with Warmth.
E - provide tons of Encouragement.
Yes, I'll have my bad days, but in the end, I love being a Mom and I love my kids and my family. I love having the opportunity to be at home with them (... even when they drive me crazy). As long as I keep in check with God and He keeps showing me tidbits along the way of where I need to be spiritually, I'll be fine.

Will we ever get a good snow?
I guess not. We were hyped up for a long weekend of being snowed in at Statesville...bought sleds, took food and lots of warm clothes for playing outside. Didn't happen. It was cold as ever, but not much snow at all. The kids were disappointed.... really disappointed. I must admit that I was disappointed too. We had a great time with the family though and we all broke in the new addition to Corby's parents house.

Want to wish my niece Lauren a Happy 1st Birthday!
