Kensley's explanation of her boo-boo

Kensley has walked around for a couple days now, reminding me of what is on the back of her head & how it happened. I finally got her on video saying it.

She is better & the cut looks 10x better now. She hasn't even complained about it much until I lay her down to change her diaper. I guess it hurts because she reminds again "i bus-sed my hid on window at donalds".

McDonald's Mania

Okay, had a big scare tonight with Kensley. We were at Mickey D's for spirit night for the school. I was working the check-in table & had everything planned out perfectly as to how I was going to maneuver the rest of the night & get kid to or pick up kid from soccer practice. Just when you think all is going smoothly...bam... literally. Kensley fell in the booth at McD's. I'm thinking...No biggie, she fell, she's crying... mother's instinct... pick up kid. RED ALERT!!! When I picked her up, blood what gushing from her head. A friend was with me & I just held her while my friend inspected where the blood was coming from. She was screaming, I'm trying to calm her down, my friend it trying to see how big the cut is, people are crowding... you get the picture... pure chaos. Apparently she fell on just the right spot of a metal piece where the wall & window meet & busted open the back of her head. It was crazy for about 20 min, but plenty of people helped me between calling the doctor, scoping for a nurse in McD's, getting some meds for her & getting Chandler to soccer practice. Final evaluation: it was a bad cut but no one thought she needed to go to the er for stiches. She kept telling everyone "i bump hid on wee-dow at donalds" (that's toddler talk for I busted my head on the window at McDonald's). I brought her home & washed all the blood out of her hair & she acted fine. Hopefully she'll get some good rest tonight. I don't want to feel that way ever again.

Many faces of Carter

I've always thought Carter made some funny faces when he concentrates on something. It's really cute and I've been able to capture quite a few of them with him playing soccer this fall. Here's Carter's soccer page... (Chandler's will come later). Carter's team hasn't lost a game & Chandler's hasn't won one... oh well.

This was a goal, but this guy was in the way so I wasn't able to capture it very well.
How cute are they! Kensley thinks she's playing soccer too.

Debate

I don't think I've heard much difference in any of the Presidential debates in that have been on over the past month. Attack, attack, attack.... you said.... no, YOU said... blah, blah, blah. Let's just get this election over with and pray for God's guidance until it happens. I'm tired of the attack ads between the two and all the hype over Obama being this great redeemer... blah on that too. I'm not a big fan of McCain, but at least he stands for moral issues that should be, without a doubt, what any Christian man would claim to support. I picked up some material at church on Sunday that really surprised me. Check out this website and this page in particular.

Corn Maze

Whew! What a day yesterday, but it was fun. We started the day with both boys having a soccer (those pics will come later) and then we had lunch & headed to the Shelby Corn Maze for an afternoon of fun. It was perfect weather... maybe even a little warm. I've never been before and the last time the boys went was when I had Kensley. It's really a cool place to take kids. If you are within driving distance, I would highly recommend it. (Little ones definitely need a stroller to make it through though). They have all kinds of stuff for the kids to play on, hayrides, a cow ride (it's a 4 wheeler that pulls little kids in cow looking carts), a corn shooter, concessions & of course, the maze. Here's some pictures from our visit.

Busy week

Sorry it's been so long since my last post. It's been a crazy busy week. We took the kids to Disney On Ice Wednesday night courtesy of MamMaw Wanda & PapPaw Dwayne. I didn't take my camera b/c I was afraid they wouldn't allow them in & I didn't want to risk the chance of possibly having my brand new camera confiscated. We walk in and I think everyone who was there had a camera & snapped pictures the whole night... rats! All of Corby's family was there, so hopefully I can steal a few pics from them. The kids had a good time. Kensley kept asking where Mickey, Minnie, Goofy & Donald were. They started the show & would come out b/w acts, but really that's about it. ***Note: if you go to a Disney on Ice show, take a coat. It was FREEZING in there. Corby said "we should have had a clue... Disney on ICE.... ice should have given us a clue that it would be cold. ***

Carter had a funny this week. It may not be that funny to you reading this, but we laughed the whole way home when he said it. We go to small group on Sunday nights. Our hosts names are Ross & Hazel. Normally their grand-daughters keep the kids for us every Sunday night while we meet, but this week they were busy so Ross kept the kids for us (this couple run a daycare... he's great with kids). On the way home we were talking about what they did and said something about "Ross". Carter busts out "his name is FROST???" I about peed in my pants.
