Bikes, scooters & other such stuff

The boys got new scooters for their birthday. They love them, but we don't have the best place to ride them at our house. Great for riding bikes, but not scooters with tiny little wheels on asphalt. Also, they got money for their birthday so we went shopping this week. Carter bought a new bike & helmet (one more his size) and Chandler got a new helmet & a new Wii game. We happened to be at my parents the first part of the week & they have plenty of room to ride around.






Here's a few pics I took around my parents house. Carter & Chandler helped PawPaw build a scarecrow for his garden.

Carter lost his first tooth... finally!

We've been waiting for a really long time for Carter to get a loose tooth. He came home from school over a month ago & said he had a loose tooth b/c someone ran into at school & hit his mouth. Well, lo & behold, it loosen one of his bottom teeth or either it was chance... regardless, he was happy. Finally on Wednesday night, he was eating leftover pizza....it was kind of hard b/c I warmed it in the oven & he said he felt something pull. He went in the bathroom & wiggled, pulled & twitched for about 15 min & came out with a tooth in hand. He was very happy!

Boys birthday party

We celebrated the boys birthdays on Sunday afternoon at the Boiling Springs YMCA waterpark. This is always a fun time for everyone! Chandler turned 9 on May 24 & Carter will be 7 on July 1... (although he will argue with you that he is already 7 now... because after all, we did celebrate, he blew out a candle on a cake AND opened presents!!!!). The boy racked up on cash... what they asked for. Carter is going to buy a bike & Chandler wanted money for the beach. Here are some pics from our afternoon.

I've been up to a few things this past month. You know me, I have a hard time giving a "bought" gift to people (unless it's kids) so I made all of my teacher gifts again this year. Here's some of my latest creations.

Summer is here!

Today is the official last day of school. We went in, said our good-byes, took some pictures, picked up report cards & headed out the door. Ahhhhh...I'm just looking forward to no more homework for a while. We started a tradition last year that me & a bunch of my girlfriends take the kids out to breakfast at a restaurant in town. We grow each year & the kids really look forward to it. The last week or so has been full of fun, field days, field trips, parties & fun with friends. Both boys had a fabulous year & great teachers. I'm so proud of them!

Bachelorette: My take

Well, I'm just totally into this season of the Bachelorette. Didn't think I would be, but I am. Last season of the Bachelor, I found this blog and I've been keeping tabs with it this season so far. He's a pretty funny guy & pretty much on target. For those of you who watched last weeks episode of the "David & Juan" drama, this is a quote from this blog that I just can't stop laughing about:

Time for Mount David to begin eruption. Let’s make one thing clear at this point: David has been drunk in every scene so far this episode. I mean, REALLY drunk. You can tell by his speech, his tone, and the fact that it’s been taking him about ten seconds to complete a blink. Never a good sign.

Oh so very ture. I'm glad he's outta here tonight. A little surprised by Juan going home, but obviously she's suspecting something about him & gave him the boot. I know they producers only want you to see the most "dramatic" parts & they edit out a lot of what really happens to make you think something else happens, but seriously, I'm wondering why Jillian hasn't see some of the true stories of these guys. I guess they talk a good game & woo her enough that she over looks all of their fake stuff.
